On Friday I attended the Screenadelica Exhibition (www.screenadelica.com) that was part of Liverpool's Sound City music festival. Craig (boyfriend) had a couple of posters in the show amongst a fair few other wonderful artists.
I ate at 2pm and worked from 5-9, after which I went to the exhibition and drank numerous beers (I never drink beer), accompanied by Jagermeister and Kopparberg...needless to say, I was quite bleary eyed! I did however manage to acquire a small print by one of the artists, Graham D. Pilling (www.armyofcats.com), basically by being very obnoxious and telling him that his illustration of a pink ghost, was actually a strawberry, and the 'F' on his hat stood for 'Fraise', the French for 'strawberry'. He replied stating that the 'F' stands for, 'Fuck you, it's a ghost.'
I'm ashamed to admit that I can't remember any of the bands from that particular night, and that I spent half of the following day feeling like a corpse... until I relented and braved the outside world to retrieve chicken nuggets from a certain fast food chain I haven't frequented in the last 10 years...
I pretty much flew home, devoured my meal and some painkillers and felt as good as new again! The rest of the day was spent watching 'Cry baby' (twice) and 'Hairspray'... gazing lustfully at the outfits... and trying to decide who I love more, Johnny Depp as Cry Baby or Traci Lords as Wanda Woodward? Or just Wanda's hair? Indulging my love of the film twice and embracing the imminent rapture?
Anyhow, fuck 'the rapture'! I survived my hangover!
