sheer boredom

My wardrobe pretty much consists of blouses, these days. Mostly sheer and lace ones. I love how prim and proper blouses are considered, but the transparent nature of mine makes them a little bit naughty.

I picked this one up in a vintage store. It has embroidered daisies all over with little cut out bits.
It's lovely and cool to wear on summer days.

These are my favourite blouses.

I got this from Urban Outfitters when I worked there.
It combines two of my favourite prints, floral and polka dot.

I got this in ASOS's recent Summer Sale.
It's a lovely shade of pastel yellow, again with a floral cut out detail.

This one is sheer and embroidered with lovely white flowers and circular patterns.
It was purchased in Topshop's Summer Sale last year.

Craig bought me this dress for my birthday last year.
It's a lovely champagne colour, I love how delicate and frou-frou it is! Like a vanilla cheesecake!
I have a thing for sheer sleeves too. I think it's because it has a peek-a-boo effect with my tattoo. People never know whether it's real or not. I think they tend to assume that I'm too girly and dainty to have tattoos!
It's fun to shatter peoples expectations!

I found this lace shirt in a British Heart Foundation shop for £3
It's a favourite!

levitate me

This is Craig's beautiful bike. I only have one photo of it pre-make over, but it's unimportant.
Just feast your eyes on this handsome chap.

The lonely jello shot on the shelf. This was taken at a combined birthdays Toga Party.
Jello shots are yummy, but difficult to get out of the glass.
Kool aid is yummy on a spoon. Also, Zeus Juice is the most yummy. Forget about the others.

This is my mum's old knitting bag. Her friend, Joy, made it for her in the 70s or 80s, I think.
I used to loathe the pattern, but I absolutely love it now. Luckily, it has been bestowed upon me.

This disgruntled looking chap is divine.

The end

Some things that have happened

This month has been lovely. It is a relief to have a steady job. I don't have enough hours, but this does permit me a few days in the week (never the weekend!) during which to see my beloved friends. I was underpaid last month, so I should be receiving that at the end of this month. Also, I've been selling tonnes of my old clothes (weep) on ebay, as a fund for a new tattoo. Here are some images that sum up this month (so far!)

Summer days with my cat bag.

Amy encouraged me to purchase this magnificent shell plate.
It's currently covered in hair clips, but I may remove them,
as you cannot see just how beautiful the glittery surface is.

I was naughty and purchased 2 new pairs of summer-friendly shoes.
In total they came to £30. I am always racked with retail guilt, these days.

My beautiful friends and I went out, and had an epic dance session.

My hair went from this...
(that is a light sabre, bubble wand, by the way, not a dildo!)

To a ribena-coloured work in progress.

I have been very lazy of late and suffering form some sort of mid-life crisis, during which I decided to try and dye my hair turquoise-blue, which turned into a bit of a disaster. I wound up with dark turquoise down to my ears, and dark bottle green for the rest. It was pretty nice, but I immediately missed the bright red. Now, I'm a kind of purple-red-pink shade, which will hopefully fade to red (with the help of some Vosene). Turquoise Mermaid dreams are firmly on hold for now.
In other news, here are some things I am coveting.

This amazing hound tooth backpack from ASOS
(it reminds me of No Doubt's 'Rock Steady', super-ska days)

Irregular Choice Poodle Skirt
It's currently in the sale, but is too expensive for me to purchase, sadly.

I love this strawberry print dress from Harajuku Hearts
I'd feel like a Sweet Lolita princess in this!

I cannot remember where the eff I found this, but it is glorious,
and a worthy exception to my 'no one shoulder dress' rule.

Peter Jensen Watermelon Bag that was sold by Tatty Devine ages ago.
Unfortunately for me, they don't still sell it. I wish I'd purchased it while I had the chance

My lovely friend Amy found these Lilley and Skinner beauties on ebay....
but I had to leave the house and they sold! Forever disappointed.

When will I see you again...

That's the title of my favorite soul song of the Seventies.

I haven't posted in a while, as I have been on adventures (lies). Mostly, I have just been working, whilst finding time to catch up and spend time with my beloveds. My friends are the most important thing in the world to me, so although my job is very dreary and I'm not rolling in cash.... things are pretty splendid, because I have them.

At the start of the month, Craig went to Germany to have fun, get drunk and celebrate his majestic moustache in the one place in the world that most appreciates moustaches. He brought me back some awesome chocolate dentures.

But I can't bring myself to eat them, because they're so amazing! Also, they make for silly photo booth opportunities whilst tipsy.

The day after Craig returned, we went on our epic Alton Towers Adventure. Everyone (and I mean everyone; Bex, Baker, Mark, Matt, Kendall, Bex's mum and auntie Sue, Alec, Ash and Lindsay) arrived at our house at 9am (snore!) to commence the 2 hour journey. I don't think I have ever been SO excited, combined with e-numbers in the form of fruit shoots and haribo, made for a very strange journey.
Once we got there, we headed straight for Nemesis, in the queue for which Craig asked, 'Are you sure you want to go on this?', this question was accompanied by the realisation that there is still so much we don't know about and have yet to find out about each other! I effing love rollercoasters! And not only Craig, but everyone present expected me to be a complete wimp! Well, I showed them! So, on the first ride, we got 'settled' into our seats, with the bars down... and as expected, I had my fears and doubts about how secure the safety precautions were, as mine felt a little loose. This was only made worse by my friend Baker who shouted, 'Dusty! Your seat looks a bit loose!', just as we started to move.
That was it.
My little life.... over.
We took off... the roller coaster plummeted... and in that moment I thought to myself, 'This is it... Good bye, cruel world'... and accepted my fate...my remains splattered all over my screaming friends....
But of course, everything was fine. Otherwise, I wouldn't be typing this. And after berating Baker, I actually had much to thank him for. Having accepted imminent death, I was fearless! And ready to ride every roller coaster in sight!
I'm exaggerating greatly, but nevertheless I did it. Alton Towers was so beautiful. Such a strange combination of exilerating, monstrous rides... in the most beautiful setting! It was so green, with lakes, flowers, and foliage, all alongside the rides. Not at all how I expected. The sky lifts took us over some amazing little ponds. I tried to take some photos, but they don't do any justice.
We spent an entire hour in the longest queue ever, for the fastest (and most disappointing ride). However, that was but a tiny flaw on an otherwise glorious day. I never wanted it to end. The journey home included a delicious Caramel frappuccino, and on our return home, Mark, Craig and I feasted on pizza whilst watching 'Terminator 2'. An awesome end to an awesome day!
Mapping out a plan & the beautiful views!

Us on Ripsaw! I'm that red swish of hair.

The place was filled with crows and jackdaws. I want to paint this little, cheeky chap.

Things I am currently coveting...

There are many things as I am an absolute pov' at the moment.

Wooden Collar Jungle Necklace from Made by White

These delicious fruit brooches, also from Made by White

The Lovers square scarf by Cleo Ferin at Tatty Devine

These Demonia Creepers with a transparent section (as seen here on Arabelle of Fashion Pirate)

None of these things I can afford at present, but here's hoping I win the lottery.

On a lighter note...

Here are some images of things that are inspiring me, momentarily.

A beautiful Japanese girl

Madonna, back when she was cool.

Round 3!

I'm having a bit of a bad hair day, today! I bought 2 boxes of L'oreal Feria's 'Mango Intense Copper' hair dye yesterday, in the hopes that my hair would resemble that of the woman on the box! I did a strand test last night, and it did sweet fuck all to my current vegetable dyed colour. It was a nice shade of red, when dyed, however the ends are still pretty dark, and once the colour fades, the dark ends show through as a pretty dodgy brown/orange colour.
My hair was black previously and I bleached it after using a Hair Colour Remover. This lightened it a hell of a light, but obviously left the roots a lot lighter than the ends. I've been bleaching my roots since, and putting Directions Hair colours over my whole head.
After using Hair Colour Remover this time to get rid of the red, my hair looked like the vomit of a tie-dye clad hippy. Por ejemplo
Yuck! After that I used the L'oreal Feria stuff, and my hair went a drab looking ginge. So, I'm sat here with a few combinations of Directions hair colours and Crazy Colours smothered all over my head. It's only 3:40pm but it feels more like 7pm. So much for giving myself a mini make-over! I'm going to see what condition it's in, before I decide to hack it off or not!
So hopefully it'll still look the way it does in the above photo (I'm the mop of hair harassing the cat). Failing that I'll hack it all off in a bid to look like Robyn Tunney as Debra in 'Empire Records', complete with the nose ring and (pretend) bad ass attitude.
Or p'raps not. I haven't got a face lovely enough to suit being bald.

Do you have any tattoos, Brad?

Today has been pretty lovely. I accompanied Craig to  Forever True Tattoo Studio where he was tattooed by the awesome Richie Clarke. He's been dying to get tattooed by Richie for a long time, and has been saving up (both money and ideas) for ages! So it was wonderful to see him fulfill this, at long last! He opted for what he described as 'a mutant heart/crab'. So far, the outline looks amazing, so I cannot wait to see what it's like upon completion!
The trip has given me the incentive to save up for a new tattoo in the not too distant future. I've been collecting images for reference, but once I have the money, I'll be asking Richie to draw me up something.
I definitely think I've got the bug, particularly after my last tattoo! At the time I thought, 'What the fuck have I let myself in for!?', as it was so freakin' painful! The adrenaline rush afterwards is so much fun, and it was hilarious to witness this in Craig earlier! He started talking at about 68700 miles per hour and at a stupidly loud volume!
We went to Nandos for dinner and picked up some painkillers, bepanthem and chocolate for the evening.

I'll post a picture of my arm at a later date.

On another note, these lovely little ear rings arrived today! The photo doesn't do them any justice, but they are super pretty and lovingly hand crafted! My friend Smash got a pair following our crochet lessons (with Bex), during which we have been watching 90's films that remind us of our youths and help us to reminisce about bubble bags, mood rings and how daisies seem to have been emblazoned on absolutely everything particularly Drew Barrymore's form. They're from this ebay shop Retro Jewellery
That is my blue flowery headband too. I'm going to wear them together like some sort of ridiculous flower girl.

 Drew Barrymore and Daisies
Some model I'm never going to look as perfect as, but what the hell!? I can try and be as floral.

Today's outfit was quite floral too! But there are no changes there!

The above, plus plenty of accessories! I'm a sucker for belts and shiny necklaces!
